Hermes EA - super-profitable forex robot or history reader?

Hermes EA attracted my attention exclusively beautiful pictures on the history. The Expert Advisor has been on the Market for only a few months and there are no reviews about it. The robot trades only one pair (EURUSD), but it is able to increase your initial deposit many times. The graph of deposit growth is a straight line inexorably rising upwards. It is these facts that made me doubt and take a closer look at this grail.

How does it work?

According to the author, the Expert Advisor uses a combination of two strategies in trading: the breakout strategy and the strategy of levels. And it shows stunning success, but only on EURUSD. Why such a great combination does not work on other pairs? Is it very strange? Maybe it's because the Expert Advisor reads historical data and knows where to open and close a position with profit? MT4 terminal provides access to .hst files, where you can get such information. And unscrupulous producers of Expert Advisors create such history readers for one purpose only - their own enrichment at the expense of naive traders. Be vigilant and do not buy beautiful pictures from the strategy tester for such money. After all, the cost of this “golden machine” capable of making billions is only $1K.

Backtests

The main mistake of the author is that he is lazy and created a history reader for only one pair. After all, if it were a really profitable robot, it would show similar results on other related pair, but it is not. Take a look at these tests.

That's a great result! Isn't it? But why is there a glitch at the end with an impressive drawdown (marked in red)?

The point is that the Expert Advisor has no historical data at this interval of history and it reveals itself here in its true form.

And here is the trade of this Expert Advisor on this interval of historical data:

As you can see, the result is not so beautiful anymore. Drawdown > 62% !!!

And here are the results on another related currency pair:

As you can see, a radically different result. How is it that such a profitable strategy making $7,988,838,024 profit from just $1000 on another currency just zeroes out your deposit?

Parameters of the EA

I have no desire to dwell on the parameters of this brainchild, as they will not help you to trade in any way profitable. Therefore, if you are still interested in this Expert Advisor, please study it yourself.

Conclusion

The point of my article is to inform you that there are a lot of fraudsters who want to get rich at your expense by selling such Expert Advisors at every step. And they have already reached the MQL5 Market. They got there a long time ago. Therefore, I urge you to be vigilant and not to buy anything. After all, even for a very impressive sum, you can get a history reader that is completely useless in real trading.
