Night Hunter Pro is a night scalper with stable profits and effective risk management, which has proven itself in trading with a positive side over several years. This could not help but attract my attention and take a closer look at this robot.

Characteristics of the Night Hunter Pro v6.57 & MT5 v5.0

How does it work?

As I mentioned above Night Hunter Pro is a night scalper, which by default is set for trading hours during the Asian session (trading time can be adjusted in the settings if desired), when the market volatility is the lowest, which helps this Expert Advisor to avoid significant price spikes and steadily make profits from a calm market.

The Expert Advisor has preset lot management modes from fixed with the lowest risk to the highest 5% per trade, which saves the trader from any calculations - you just need to choose the right option based on preliminary tests:

Night Hunter Pro is suitable for FTMO, which means it can be used for Prop Firm Challenges. And I know that for many traders this will be of interest.

Testing

I have tested on the main pairs recommended for this Expert Advisor with default settings (Fix Lot) and with High Risk Set (5% per Trade) from 2010 till now (11/2024) - this is enough to form an idea of the robot's performance.

GBPUSD 2010-2024 High Risk Set (5% per Trade)night-hunter-backtest-gbpusd-risk5

By the way, it should be noted that Night Hunter trades better in the Asian session. I tested it with round-the-clock operation, but the result was expectedly worse. Take a look at this:

EURCHF 2010-2024 FixLotnight-hunter-backtest-eurchf-fixlot

Note that the test is performed with a quality of 99.9%. Such a high result can only be achieved by using TDS2

As tests show, the Expert Advisor confidently and steadily extracts profit from the weakly volatile Asian market with an insignificant drawdown of 8-9%. Which is very good. The most effective pair was GBPUSD, which can be considered as a priority when choosing a trading pair.

Live signals of the real account on MyFXBook and MQL5:

This chart clearly shows the refilling of the deposit by the developer, which is as follows:

refills-of-the-deposit

refills-of-the-deposit-2

Here you can clearly see that the EA suffered a loss and then started to recover, but at some point (red arrow) the developer replenished the deposit to the required level to compensate for the loss, so that the chart as a whole has an acceptable appearance with stable growth. The developer can be understood, in this way he wants to simulate a beautiful chart in front of us, so that his EA has a more presentable appearance in front of its potential buyer. It is clear that there are no unprofitable Expert Advisors and the seller should not do this to be honest before his customers, but unfortunately he chose another way - the way of deception and tricks.

What the developer's track record tells us

Night Hunter Pro is developed by Valeriia Mishchenko, a well-established MQL5 author (4.3/5.0 across 269+ reviews) — you may recognize her other work, since we've already covered two of her other products: Waka Waka EA and Perceptrader AI. The official version of Night Hunter Pro sells for $2,340.

Independent MQL5 reviews add useful context beyond what we've tested here. One user reported the strategy became notably harder to trade profitably after 2022, when rollover-hour volatility increased — "one bad trade can wipe out an entire month or a couple of months of trading." A more recent review (January 2025) goes further, calling the strategy "completely outdated" with no update in over a year. Combined with the deposit-refill pattern we found on the live MyFxBook account, this paints a consistent picture: whatever edge this system had in 2020-2022 appears to have narrowed significantly since.

MT5 version — what's different

Alongside the original MT4 version, Night Hunter Pro is also available for MT5. The version available here is v5.0, an earlier release than the current official MT5 build (v6.28 at the time of writing). It trades the same core logic and pairs as the MT4 version, and — unlike the newer official release, which requires a custom DLL (version.dll) to run — this v5.0 build works without any DLL dependency, so there's nothing extra to enable in your MT4/MT5 settings.

Since this is an older build, expect it to lag behind whatever refinements the developer has since made to the newer official version — but it also means less complexity and no DLL-related antivirus flags to worry about.

Parameters of the EA

Night Hunter Pro v6.57 Expert Advisor has many parameters, which are described in detail in the Manual. Here I just want to mention a wide range of risk management options by setting maximum daily drawdowns even on FTMO, Spread Filter, Swap Filter, News Filter, even Stock Market Crash Filter, the ability to set a limit for maximum risk per trade and much more.

Conclusion

Night Hunter Pro Expert Advisor certainly deserves attention from traders and is certainly of interest with its good and stable trading, but not without machinations on the part of the developer (deposit fills on MyFXBook, which I mentioned above) — and independent reviews suggest the underlying strategy's performance has genuinely declined since 2023, not just its presentation. However, it should be remembered that even this robot can destroy your deposit, as indirectly evidenced by the developer's deposit refills. Therefore, at the beginning, test it on a demo account for several months. And when trading on a real account, withdraw the profit in a timely manner. Be sure to use VPS for uninterrupted work of the Expert Advisor and ECN-account with a trusted broker with low spread.

How to configure allowing several currency pairs in parallel ?

Same as any MT4 EA, Yaron — attach it to a separate chart for each currency pair you want it running on simultaneously (right-click each chart → Expert Advisors → Attach). No special multi-pair setting needed.

The backtest is great but doesn't work in demo

Thanks for reporting this, Yaron — worth connecting to what I found during testing: the MyFXBook live account had deposit refills to smooth out the equity curve (see the section above with screenshots). If backtest results aren't holding up on demo either, that's consistent with the same pattern — a genuinely strong strategy shouldn't need touching up to look good in real conditions. I'd treat the backtest with real skepticism at this point.

are those EA's on the web site are the original EA's ? or they are demo ? what is the diffrence from the original ea sold on the other web sites ?

Fair question, yuval — this is the same file sold on the official site, not a stripped-down demo. Free here means free, not limited. That said, given what I found with the deposit refills on the live account, I'd still test thoroughly on demo yourself before trusting it with real money — that's a developer-honesty issue, not a "this copy vs that copy" issue.

When I Test In ST Is Not Profitbale!!! why?

    • Daniel
Published: 23.02.2025 Reply to the message

Not surprising given what's in the article above, EyaS — the "beautiful" results shown by the developer don't fully hold up once you look past the surface (see the deposit-refill section). If you're testing with different settings than the recommended ones, that could also be a factor — but I wouldn't expect this EA to reliably outperform what I found either way.
